Why?

A little about me and why I started this.

My name is Derek Frank Alcantar President and founder of Your Life Matters. I use to drink, smoke, was into drugs, stealing and fornicating actives. God delivered me from all of that. But before all of that I found myself homeless and no where to go, no family, and no friends to take me in. I discovered that there where these Christian based men's homes that would take a person in for no charge. That was prefect, that was just the amount of money I had to offer. In return for the the free place to stay and food to eat and shower to take you had to participate in bible studies threw out the day as well as chores around the ranch. That was fine with me, being that I'm a believer also already being baptized, and knowing that everything is spiritual. And the chores weren't bad they were just minimal. So first half of that day was bible studies and chores. Then when it came to the second half of the day, that was considered are free time to do what we wanted. There was only a couple option to choose from, they were throwing around the football, playing soccer, playing basketball which the basketball hoop had no back board on it, so that got old real fast, also there weight we could lift, reading, walking, and smoking. Which were all good option with me since the whole program was free. So being at the men's home I seen what I'd do different if it were my men and women's home. I would say to myself, wouldn't it be neat if there were workshops that helped you learn a new skill or improve an existing skill. With me being a Mechanic, Welder, Cosmetologist, Entrepreneur, Recycler, Sells Men and teaching myself by watching YouTube videos, that I know that with the power of God and myself if I had my own Christian based men and women's that I could really change and improve many life's who where wanting to change.
So what makes Your Life Matters homes different from the rest? It that  we are helping individuals find there purpose, learn a new skill, and or improve there existing skill with the offing of are workshops. By keeping God in are life's anything is possible. Having bible studies, workshops, place to stay, shower and eat. We are really going to make a difference in these communities. Workshop will include Automotive, Welding, Agriculture, Cooking and Baking, Sells, Arts and crafts, Computers, and also open to new idea that are member have.
